Since Ellison's birth, I've only managed to blog once. This is representative of my reflections on life generally, or rather the lack thereof: I've spent most of the last year and a bit drinking from the most marvelous firehose of opportunity and experience I've ever encountered. Work, Family, Community, any one of these could take up every waking moment.
Last night I dreamt of India, as I have many times before. The shape of the dream is always different, but the core points are the same: I'm preparing for a major journey to India, where I'll be doing intense personal work. Sometimes I'm there, sometimes I'm en route, last night I was in the process of packing my bags, and deciding which books to bring and figuring out how I'd be spending my time. Among other things, I'm taking that dream as an indicator of my need to rebalance my inner and outer work, and the importance of exploring and expressing both, whether for my own consumption or presented to others.
Inspired in part by my friend Jessica, who keeps an awesome weekly blog, I've decided to revive this blog, and try to put at least one post a week out on something that's on my mind that might interest others.
Throwing my hat once more in the ring,
Daniel
