Psychology

I am extremely interested in psychology, particularly the work and writings of Jung.

While I think there's some merit in the taxonomic, statistical approach of modern psychology / psychiatry, what I'm really interested in is human potential, individual development, and differences in personality types.

I find many of the ideas of archetypes and the collective unconscious to be particularly fascinating, and enjoy exploring them in a variety of ways.

Below are a few of the different ways that I've explored some areas of psychology:

  • Work on myself and others with analysis of word association
  • Dream analysis - primarily my own, but occasionally for friends.
  • Working my way through the complete writings of Jung: I am 9 volumes into the 19 volume series.
  • Experimenting with biofeedback (ECG and GSR primarily)

I'm fascinated by the psychology behind "altered states", intuition, and lucidity, and am hoping to create an opportunity for more focused research on these topics.

I'm excited by the prospects of using the Life Balance Lotus online Community as an opportunity for "open source" / transparent research on the psychology of personal development.
