Writing

Since childhood I've been in love with and in awe of the power of the written word. I would sometimes find myself sitting in a library, dumbstruck by the collective millenia of ideas, perspectives, and stories that surrounded me.

While I irregularly keep a journal, I find that writing for public consumption provides me with a mixed bag of emotions - there are a webwork of topics that I love to write about and correspond with folks about, and I enjoy academic writing, but wrestle with blocks around putting words down for wider dissemination.

I'm in the process of trying to get a first book published. Co-authored with Susan McFee, "Life Balance Lotus: Life Design for our Creative Culture" helps people examine 8 aspects of their lives, and through a process of exploration and experimentation design a life that suits their authentic self as well as possible.

Writing it has been an amazing experience - working together for over a year, we've conducted interviews, led workshops, and put together the book. We're currently in the process of navigating the world of publishing, and developing the website component of the "Life Balance Lotus" experience.
